Loving These Warm Summer Nights

I went out on the porch Tuesday night and took a picture of the sunset.  Read for a while on the porch (Those Who Wish Me Dead) and then forgot to bring in my camera.  Gerard saw it on the chair today when he went out to brush Abby.  Good thing no one took it!  I think this is the first sunset I ever took.  Time to go see another one.  Which shot do you like better, the first or the second?

It was a good day--an easy work day and I always feel good when I set a new record on a Lumosity game.  Last night I set two new records!

Good Morning--Greeted with a Beautiful Sunrise

November 14, 2013, Parma, Ohio

It is of the LORD's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.  They are new every morning; great is thy faithfulness. --Lamentations 3:22

I cannot help but praise my God on my way to work in the morning when I see this!  I never really noticed all the different colors and patterns in the sky until I painted scenery.  That's when I began to really look at the sky with a new appreciation for how magnificent and creative God is.

Gloomy Gray Skies (Writer's Workshop)

Our backyard view from our back window
Please come back Mr. Sun!  I am so happy to see January go and the days get longer. I can tell they are because in the morning I can see without putting on a light now. At least it's not pitch dark anymore and it's not as dark when I get off the bus. We had a long stretch of gloomy days though with no sun and no blue sky. I noticed that there weren't even any clouds, just plain gray. It makes me want to sleep!  See how blah the sky looks in this picture?  No matter what direction I looked in, that's how it was. I really miss the sunshine! It is no wonder I have a Vitamin D deficiency! Hopefully we'll soon have blue sky again!

This post was inspired not only by the gloomy gray sky but was also one of Mama Kat's Writer's Workshop prompts awhile back.

Happy Father's Day!

This is my second father's day without my dad. I still see his picture every day though because I keep one on my desk at work and also on the computer desk at home so it's like I still see him. I really enjoy the blog I started which is all about him and my book ( "My Funny Dad, Harry"). Since writing the book, "My Funny Dad, Harry" I think of some other things that I didn't include in the book so can still write about them on my blog.

Today the sky is such a pretty blue. I'm so glad I picked the sky blue for my book cover because I wanted something cheerful and thought that if it was sky blue, I'd think of my dad everytime we had a pretty blue sky which is exactly what happens! At first I picked a dark green to match his suspenders, but I'm so glad I changed it to the pretty blue.

Be sure to let your father know who much you appreciate him while you still can and have a Happy Father's Day!
