I seldom used Photobucket but did open an account way back when. I was just beginning my computer experience and was participating in some forums on My Space. In order to include some pics, I used photobucket and that is the only reason I started on there. I never liked it much, found the website very user unfriendly and pretty much ignored it after that for the most part.
Now I not only got an email about having to upgrade my account and PAY to do it but also had messages on this blog to upgrade my account! (I came across this on someone else's blog as well.) UGH! NOT doing that. Unfortunately though, photobucket somehow was able to put their ad on my widgets! I emailed photobucket asking them to remove them and was told they couldn't unless I pay to upgrade. I closed my photobucket account. I do not want anything to do with them! This really gets me mad!
I also tried deleting the widget and starting over but the photobucket ad still showed up. It is very annoying and frustrating. If anyone has any suggestions as to how I can get this fixed other than paying for an upgrade on an account I do not want, I would love to hear them.

Down in the Dumps Friday (UPDATED 12-3-12)
What is usually "happy Friday" turned into a bad Friday for me. Someone hurt my feelings and I was in a stew about it all day which slowly turned into anger. I couldn't get it off my mind all night and so Saturday morning, I decided to do something about it. I wrote an email to the person who hurt my feelings but here is the key: I did not send it. By just writing down my thoughts, I was able to release the tension I was feeling so that was a good thing. I certainly don't want to make things worse.
Here's the best part though. After drafting the email, I had my quiet time with the Lord and here is what I read from the The Power of a Positive Woman by Karol Ladd:
I may or may not send the email on Monday. I'll have to calmly assess the pros and cons and make sure I am not sending it just to make the other person feel bad but rather because I think it will help in some way. I will also review it and make sure I didn't come across as whiny or disrespectful which would definitely just make things worse. I already am inclined not to send it but rather just talk to the person face-to-face after praying for direction.
The Power of a Positive Woman is such an encouragement packed full of interesting stories and great quotes. I really can't say enough good things about it and will continue to write more blog posts sharing more from it in the upcoming weeks. It is definitely one of my favorite all-time Christian non-fiction books. I am actually keeping a notebook of the things I am underlining as I read--it's that good!
Are you ever down in the dumps? How do you get out?
UPDATED 12/3/12: My meeting Monday morning went very well. In fact, it could not have gone any better and I am glad I did not send the email!

Here's the best part though. After drafting the email, I had my quiet time with the Lord and here is what I read from the The Power of a Positive Woman by Karol Ladd:
It's so easy to sweat the small stuff and groan over our immediate cares and concerns; but as we turn our sights heavenward, we gain a whole new perspective. In this life we are going to have happy times and sad times. But at all times, we can be positive, joyful women because we have our heavenly Father's assurance: "It's better higher up."Wow! How timely! This helped me tremendously--it was exactly what I needed to hear. I love that God is in control and helps me deal with anything that comes up. Reading this just reminded me that in the big scheme of things, this is a small and probably a "moe hill" that I really don't want to turn into a "mountain." When I reflect on the situation, what has really been hurt is primarily my pride. I know men compartmentalize things all the time and wish I could do that. But women, you know that we don't do that. If something gets under our skin, it's there no matter where we are or what we are doing, right? I determined not to let this incident ruin my whole weekend and quickly grabbed back my joy, turning the situation over to God.

10 Things That Make Us Angry (Writer’s Workshop)
These are the ten top things that make my husband angry:
He does NOT like to wait.☻Having to wait at traffic lights☻When cashiers overcharge me (not honoring my coupons, not giving me the sale price)☻Having to wait in line at Giant Eagle☻Having to wait for me to choose library books if he’s ready to go☻Having to wait a long time for the library books he orders☻Getting home late from work☻Watching his Boston sports teams lose or play poorly☻When things break or do not work right☻Having my car in for repairs
Here's ten things that make me angry:
☻Outrageous salaries for athletes—I really don’t want to hear how much money they make because it always riles me up. It just shows how whacky our nation’s values are.
☻Child Abuse heartbreaking, especially when parents abuse their own children! It always gets me angry, enough to motivate me to donate on a regular basis to Boys Town and Covenant House.
☻Animal Abuse is just senseless and cruel!
☻Greed and Selfishness—I believe this is the primary cause of so many problems.
☻Dishonesty—I hate it when people lie, in fact, I even dislike books if the characters lie a lot because I get confused and don’t know what’s going on.
☻Computer Malfunctions—Most of my yelling is at my computer, although lately it’s been working really well. The videos have been playing without stalling, my auto email addresses have been filling in, and Blogger is working well. Oh, we did have a slight delay the other day though when the server couldn’t be found. It didn’t bother me though because I was done with the computer by then and it was my husband’s turn.
☻Cruelty to people—This kind of news really upsets me.
☻Politics—I wish we didn’t have political parties and we could all just be Americans in the USA.
☻The Browns—when they play poorly and consequently blow a game I think they should win
☻My husband makes me angry when he loses his temper and makes a scene in public, swears at his sports teams or throws stuff and slams things. It’s not pretty! Fortunately, this doesn't happen often.
Here is one of my life verses that help me control my anger:
James 1:19-20: . . . let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath: for the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God.
What makes you angry?
This post was inspired by Mama Kat's Writer’s Workshop prompt: “List 10 Things That Make You Angry.” Abby did the prompts: What Are You Looking Forward To?

The NFL Got Me Riled Up
NFL Lockout
First there's the NFL lockout because players and owners are greedy and can't seem to come to terms as to how to divide up the money between them. I think it is absolutely preposterous the the NFL can dictate who coaches, managers and players can and cannot talk to.NFL Rule Change
The NFL rule change for kickoffs is bad for the Browns. Our special teams with Josh Cribbs our outstanding kickoff returner is one bright spot of the Browns, but now the NFL voted to move the starting point for kickoffs up 5 yards to make it easier for the kick to be a touchback. The reason given was to prevent some injuries but I think that is lame. A 5-yard difference is going to prevent injuries? I don’t get this reasoning. I think many clubs are afraid of some kick returners going all the way for a touchdown like Cribbs has done quite often. Teams are just afraid of kicking to Cribbs so voted to make it easier to kick it to the end zone and start it at the 20. Only six teams voted against this rule change. I don’t know, but I bet those who did have good returners on their special teams unit. Just a hunch. What do you think about this? What has got you riled up?

I HATE YOU!
I must have the dumbest computer monitor ever. Two weeks ago, I'm sitting at my computer trying to see the screen because the picture is so light and the afternoon sun was glaring on it. Fortunately, Gerard was out walking the dog. I am literally screaming at my AOC computer monitor.

11 Medical Madness Hassles

1) Having to wait an hour or more to see the doctor after rushing to make the appointment on time. I had time to finish out my tennis match after all!
2) Taking off work to take my dad for blood work as scheduled and finding the lab closed.
3) Going for blood work and having to wait an hour to be taken because both technicians are out to lunch.
4) After waiting for almost two hours, being notified that the doctor just called and can’t make it because her car broke down!
5) Going to see your doctor about your test results which the doctor hasn’t even seen because they didn’t get them yet so I called for the hospital to fax them to him.
6) Taking off work early to go for the last Hepatitis shot in a series only to be told they ran out of medicine.
7) Going for a follow-up Ultrasound only to find that I can’t get it done because they didn’t receive an order from the doctor and he’s gone for the day. Have to reschedule!
8) Getting a call from your doctor telling you he needs to see you right away. Now that’s scary!
9) Calling for test results only to find out they haven’t come back yet.
10) Being charged for something that should be covered by your insurance because the doctor’s office put down the wrong code.
11) When your prescription runs out when the doctor is on vacation.
What riles you about medical related experiences?

Take Away The Guns Already!
When I read in the news about people getting shot during arguments, it just seems as plain as day that people should not be permitted to own guns. I know, all the hunters get riled when they hear this, but isn't the value of human life more important than hunting for pleasure? IT SHOULD BE!
Anyway, the latest here is the story of neighbors not getting along. One is a firefighter, family man with a young child. The other are people who like to party and have some fun. On the Fourth of July, the "partiers" were shooting off fireworks late at night while the firefighter's child was trying to sleep. In the firefighter's own words, "I snapped." He got his gun, went outside and killed three people and shot two others--just like that.
I can't help but think that if he didn't have a gun, three people would still be alive today and the other two would not be wounded. Furthermore, the firefighter (Hough) would not be in jail away from his family facing the death penalty. The families of the victims would not all be grieving.
The firefighter was convicted on three counts of aggravated murder and two counts of attempted murder. He received a sentence of life in prison.
This is just one episode, it happens a lot! People always get angry, it happens. But without a gun in hand at the time, the consequences would be far less severe. I would not have a gun in my house, ever! If you have one, please rethink this and don't take the risk of something similar happening to you.
A couple good fiction books about this topic are "Nineteen Minutes" and "Perfect Match" by Jodi Picoult. I highly recommend them both!

UPDATED 1/11/09:
Over and over I hear about more gun related accidental deaths. A friend shoots her friend, a 4 yr. old shoots his older brother and on and on it goes. The 4 yr. old even announced he was going to get a gun and his family assumed he would come back with his toy gun. They were wrong. He loaded a real gun that was in the house and came back out and shot his brother because he had stood on his foot!
