But whoso hath this world's good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him?--I John 3:17
I have been feeling really bad since I heard the news about Japan and saw the devastation. This is just a short post that I hope will encourage others to help these people.
I cannot go about my routines and neglect to help them. Today, I finally made a donation online through Samaritan's Purse because it is an organization I am familiar with, have read about and know that it is legitimate. It is a Christian organization whose mission is to help people in need.
Yesterday at Reflections From A Christian Mommy Writer I found a wonderful prayer for Japan that I don't want to wait until Friday to share with you.
What will you do to help? " . . . the righteous give generously." Psalm 37:21 NIV
UPDATED 3/16/11:
Today you can help the animal rescue efforts in Japan by playing the Free Kibble Trivia game.
I found some good news about Japan over at Sparkle's blog the other day about Cat Island. Now this sounds like my kind of place for retirement!

At present, we are also praying fervently. we have plans to give to local collections that will go to a specific relief effort for Japan.
It truly is a catastrophe there. Our hearts are broken for so many that are suffering.
Just looking at the few videos is heart wrenching and shockiing at the same time.
bonks and love
Karen, I knew your generous heart would be doing something. I'm praying for sure but I'm also adding The Red Cross to my comments donation this month. I'm still doing Wounded Warrior but I wanted to help Japan. I'll also be giving a private donation to the Salvation Army which is active there.
My prayers are with all those affected in Japan. I can't even imagine what it's like to have gone through such devastation.
Pierro: We watched 20/20 Saturday that changed their scheduled program on reality TV shows to coverage of Japan and the Tsunami. I just sat in shock full of sadness seeing those videos. Glad you are helping too.
Mountain Woman: I figured you would be giving something to help too. The American Red Cross is also a solid relief organization. Samaritan's Purse also gives the message of Jesus Christ too so I like to give through them since many others give through the bigger, more well-known rescue/relief organizations.
Beaded Tail: I can't imagine what that devastation would be like either and hope I never find out!
We are praying too, for all those people in Japan. We are going to donate to the World vet organization. They are organizing to hopefully help the cats on Cat Island and the other animals in Japan too.
I would definitely like to contribute for the betterment of Japan people. My prayers and love are surely there with them.
