The Blogroll is one of the more useful widgets in my opinion. I use it every day! I like it for the following reasons:
1. It shows titles of new posts so I don’t waste time visiting blogs that are not updated.
2. It groups my favorite blogs in a prominent place that is easy to use.
3. It is an easy way to share my favorite blogs with my readers.
4. I find more good blogs by looking at other blogrolls and if I comment on them, they usually will visit my blog so I increase my readers this way.
5. It makes me feel good when I see my blogs listed on other blogrolls and hopefully our readers feel good seeing theirs listed on ours.
6. They are easy to edit.
7. I can make separate blogrolls such as for those blogs that make a donation to charity. This is a much shorter list so if I’m short on time, at least I can make sure I visit these. (If you are donating to charity for comments on your blog, please let us know and we will certainly add you to our “comments for charity” blogroll and visit you.)
Now, if you wonder what’s not to like about them, visit: 10 reasons why I do not like blogrolls over at Tentblogger which was the inspiration for this post. It’s kind of ironic that I found his blog from a blogroll! He does like links to his blog within text like this though so make his day and be sure to visit.
Do you like blogrolls? Do you use them? Have you added us yet?

I like blogrolls, mostly for the reasons you listed:)
I read that post and it seems that he is blogging for a living, so he can't use up valuable "sidebar real-esate". I can understand that.
I do like the idea of having a top commenters widget or something.
this is very fair...! love it!
I have a blogroll, but I don't use that to visit. I use Google Reader. So I won't visit unless you have a new post.
Have a terrific day. :)
I have a blog roll and I use it every day to visit blogs. Your blog is on it!
You are on mine! I visit your blog(s) every time there's an update! :D I am honored to be on yours. :)
I blog for a living, but I like to keep my blogroll on the front page, and not on a separate page. A separate page is next to useless, in my opinion. I never go to those separate blog roll links, so I wonder who really does. I like to share my "PR" with my pals and appreciate it when they do the same for me.
You're on my blogroll so I can see your updates. Hmmm, but I don't see Thistle Cove Farm on your side bar.
Ma: Glad you like blogrolls too! I'm sure glad I don't have to depend on blogging to make a living--I'd be in the poor house or on the street. I had a commenters widget for awhile but it wasn't accurate so I got rid of it.
John: Good.
Sandee: I only use Google reader if I have extra time after going through my blogroll. I only visit those on my roll who have updated posts.
Beaded Tail: Yes, I've seen this blog listed and am happy about that.
Rebecca: I have both your blogs on my roll. I am glad I am on yours too. I agree, it's better to have it on the main page. To put it on a separate page, I think I'd have to just manually put in each link and it wouldn't show the updated posts. I'm keeping it on my main page.
Thistle Cove Farm: I have you on my blogroll here too. Perhaps you just didn't see the whole thing. You need to click "show all" at the bottom of the list to open it up. I had a problem though for awhile when it wasn't showing. That's when I used my Google reader to visit from.
