Gerard always likes to surprise me with gifts and this year was no different. He did it again! The first one I opened was a heated car seat. A very practical gift that he got me because my car heater takes so long to heat up. He was disappointed that it doesn't fit my seat because of the hand rests, but really, I think it would have been a fuss thing so am just as glad it didn't fit. We can return it. I love that he always is looking out for me and trying to make me comfortable though.
Since I needed the receipt to return it and would see what else was on it, he also gave me the other gift he bought at Brookstone--a Boogie Board! Do you know what that is? It's a 5x7 LCD writing tablet that you write on with a stylus or any tool that won't scratch it. To erase, you press a button. It's good for temporary notes or scorekeeping.
Here is a picture of me in my new Browns jersey. This one is special though because it has my name on the back!
He found a set of wolf towels for me. I told him I could use some new towels but would like some with animals or something cute on them. Don't blame him, I like practical gifts I can use. He likes wolves though too so I hope he doesn't take them from me to use in his bathroom. He said he wouldn't.
The biggest surprise though was a fur jacket! It's really beautiful and very soft (the picture doesn't do it justice) but I have to wait for warmer weather to wear it--see that wide open neck? Why would they make it like that? He is so sweet, he said he wanted me to have something really nice. It is very nice. I have eight winter coats/jackets already, but none like this! It has ruffles! I look forward to wearing it on Sundays. I won't be building any snowmen in this jacket!
I did have a nice birthday and was glad I didn't have to go out anywhere because the streets were icy and it was very cold. I noticed my throat was a bit scratchy later on though. Sure hope I'm not coming down with a cold!
Now I feel bad I didn't give him more for his birthday. I gave him the 3-way flashlight he wanted for walking Abby, a Christmas tie because he didn't have any and the 4-flavor hot cocoa set that he likes. Oh well, he bought himself some Peanuts CDs so I'll count those too.

Happy Birthday Karen! Glad you enjoyed your day and all your presents!
You are NOT 57!! No way! Really???! You look so young! Not that 57 is old or anything. Uh....I better quit now.
Soooo. LOVE the new coat! It is really pretty. You sure got nice gifts. Sheesh. I never get so many gifts. I think Gerard loves you a ton, Karen, you lucky girl!

Happy birthday! I'm glad you had such a great day!
Gerard is so thoughtful! It is hard to find a guy who puts so much thought into buying gifts. Lucky you! Belated Happy Birthday.
I can't believe you are 57!!! You seem so much younger. "He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, who bears fruit in its season and leaf does not wither." :D
That coat is pretty. Maybe it's for formal occasions?
I looked up the Boogie Board, and it looks NEAT! But I have too many gadgets already, lol. Enjoy your gifts.
Your husband seems to be the best gift of all. He is a wonderful example of a godly husband!
Happy Birthday Karen. It sounds like you are having a great birthday. Hope you have lots of fun today and also have many more to come. Take care.
