3 Odd Things We Saw On Our Walk

Every morning we walk our dog about an hour to 1 1/2 hours and see lots of wildlife and sometimes cats out and other dog walkers.  Today we saw something we never saw before--a deer/squirrel feeder attached to a tree on our street.  It had corn on the cob in it along with some nuts.

Yesterday, there was a dead duck right on the sidewalk!  Sorry no picture, I haven't been taking a camera along but after seeing this, I decided to start bringing it.  On the same walk as the dead duck that made me feel sad, we also saw a dead possum in a street!  Sad for the possum too.  Possums are very helpful creatures who pretty much mind their own business and don't generally hurt people.  I much prefer seeing the live wildlife like deer that we often see in people's yards early morning.  I wish there was one eating at that feeder we saw today.  It would have made for a better picture.

What was the last strange thing you saw?

Strange Things: Odd Houses in Our Neighborhood

On our morning dog walk, we pass a couple unusual houses.  I enjoy looking at different houses and thought our readers might like seeing these as well.

The first is missing a front door and reminds me a little of a castle because of the style of the windows:

It looks to me like a modern addition was built on top of an old looking bottom part.  The door is actually on the side:

You can see steps on the side of the house that lead up to a side door.  I like how the driveway curves around it too.  I think it looks really cool.
This is on a main street set pretty far back from the street, farther back than other homes on this street.

Another odd one we see is one that has the garage in front of the house instead of behind it:
Wonder why they have that railroad crossing sign by their drive right in front.  I think this is a strange arrangement.

Do you have any strange or odd looking houses in your neighborhood?

Strangest Car I Ever Saw!

Seen on Euclid Ave. in downtown Cleveland, summer of 2013
As I was walking outside on my break one day last summer, I saw this silver rocket car parked across the street!  I remember riding these at Euclid Beach, an amusement park we used to go to when I was a kid.  It's not there anymore.  I wonder who rode in this.  It was parked outside of the House of Blues so perhaps it belonged to a singer or band.

Would you like a car like this?  What is the strangest thing you have seen lately?

Strange Sight--Covered Trees

Here are pictures of two trees I saw in our neighborhood while walking Abby. I thought it was very strange that the ground cover has climbed all the way up these two trees, even along the branches! Have you ever seen such a thing? I never knew ground cover could actually climb up a tree like this!

High Spiders, Bulldog in Pink, and a Bat, Oh My!

I would expect to see spiders on the ground, climbing on the outside of a house, perhaps making a web in the rafters, but I never expected to see four spiders on the outside of an office window 33 floors up! Yep, there were four little spiders, two way up at the top of the window and two crawling around on the window. This is the picture of the one I was able to get. Sure was a high climb for these spiders! Another of God's amazing creations!

The other strange thing I saw was a guy walking a dog, I think it was a Boxer. First off, that is pretty unusual to see a dog Downtown unless it's a seeing eye dog for a blind person. What really caught my attention though was that this dog had on a pink sports shirt with a number 18 on the back! It was a big dog so it must have been an adult t-shirt. Too bad I didn't bring my camera along when I went for a walk on my break, sorry. Speaking of pink, the Ohio drivers licenses are now pink!

On my walk to the bus stop Monday, look what I saw on the sidewalk--a dead bat! This is the first time I ever saw a bat, dead or alive, other than at the zoo.

What's the strangest thing you've seen lately?
