Last month we had 281comments so donated $1 for each to The Last Hope Cat Kingdom to help them rebuild their shelter that burned down. That was way more comments than we expected! Although I said I'd give this plan a 3-month trial period, I can see this is really more than I expected so we are adjusting the amount to 50 cents per comment on all three of our blogs for the The National Children's Cancer Society. (Hope you visit our other blogs too: Grab A Book From Our Stack and My Funny Dad, Harry.)
I was a bit annoyed last month; however, with some anonymous spam comments, some of which included questions not at all related to my post. Not only that, but there was no way to contact them with an answer even if I wanted to because they were anonymous. Duh! Please do not ask me questions anonymously! I feel that if you don't want to put your name (or screen name at least) on your comments, then you shouldn't leave them. Anonymous comments are not included in our comment total unless it is related to the post in some way to make it a legitimate comment.

That is a great charity! I think you should just delete all spam comments. They just put random or copy & paste comments anyway. I think Blogger's new spam detection helps some.
What a great donation last month and another worthy cause this month too! I don't like spammy comments either which is why I still have the word verification on my blog. It's a pain in the patooty but it helps.
What a generous gift. Sorry you had to deal with the dumb spam comments. Thank you for both sacrifices :)
