I Found A Look Alike On Pet Finder!

I just found out about this "Find Your Better Half" contest at Norwood Unleashed in time because this is the last day to enter! You are supposed to find a dog on Petfinder of the opposite gender that looks like you. I found Carter! I think he looks a lot like me although it says he is part Norwegian Elkhound and part Lab. I am part Norwegian Elkhound and part German Shepherd (or so I’ve been told).  We have the same beautiful eyes, same cute ears and the same nose and same smile. If I win, I will choose Canine Lifeline to receive the prize because the founder of this rescue is the kind lady who fostered me to give me more time to find my forever home with Karen and Gerard.

Petfinder is a great way to find the perfect pet that is available in your area. Give it a try just to see all the wonderful homeless animals that need a good home. Abby's Foster Mom

I learned that Abby's foster mom will be at "Meet Your Best Friend" at the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo tomorrow from 10-4 and we'll get to see her again. She will be there with her Canine Lifeline group which she started up shortly after she brought Abby to us.  Canine Lifeline does not have a shelter.  All the dogs are in foster homes waiting to find their forever home. 

Host Your Own Talk Show

Over at He Said, She Said Camera Shy I learned that Oprah and Mark Burnett are searching for the next big talk show host.  Worth checking out if this is something you always wanted to do.  You need to submit a video and go to a live casting call.  Get details here:  Oprah Wants To Hear From You.  Even if you don't want to try out, you can go and vote for the video you like best.  I think Helene at I'm Living Proof That God Has A Sense Of Humor should go for it. 

Obesity and Diet: Japan vs. U.S.

At Dietivity.com I watched a very interesting video comparing how the Japanese eat to how Americans eat. No wonder Japan's obesity rate is just 3% (the lowest in the world) compared to the U.S. at 30%. Japan must doing something right. I'll be doing a post about this soon but in the meantime, you should watch the video.

Today I discovered The Sweetest Thing at Confessions of a Pioneer Woman. It's a lovely post about a boy and his dog that received 400 comments! The most I ever got on a post is 20 something. This is just a wonderful thing to me that people take time to comment on such a light, wholesome post such as this.

Multiple Intelligence Quiz

Over at Lost in a Sea of Blogs I found a Multiple Intelligence Quiz that of course I had to check out because I love quizzes.  I scored highest in Intrapersonal (Myself Smart), second in Number Smart & Word Smart followed closely by Nature Smart.  Here's my results:

Gerard scored the highest possible in both Intrapersonal (Myself Smart) and Kinaesthetic (Body Smart), second in Naturalistic (Nature Smart). Here's his results:

Our Favorite Entrecard Blog: Daisy the Curly Cat

Choosing our favorite Entrecard blog was easy. There is only one blog that my husband and I both read every morning and that is Daisy, the Curly Cat. Usually it's very funny because it's written from the cat's perspective and comes up with lots of funny things, such as:

1) Sunday comic strips involving her and her toys or her and her brother cat, Harley;
2) Monday puzzles or riddles;
3) silly things that the cats do;
4) sometimes interesting and helpful tips or advice;
5) Fashion Fridays when Daisy & Harley model different outfits each week.

It's funny that a person actually spends time doing all this in the first place, but Daisy's mom is very talented with the camera and wit. Sometimes there'll even be a funny video to watch. Anyone who has a cat would get attached to this blog.

Another thing that amazes me about "Daisy, the Curly Cat" is that there's something new up early every morning. My cats blog too, but to come up with posts everyday by the cats is very difficult. After all, cats generally look out windows, eat, nap and if they're in the mood, may climb on something or play. What makes this blog stand out from other "pet blogs" and "human" blogs is the extent of creativity that goes into it. Even if you don't particularly like cats, we think you'll appreciate the uniqueness of this blog.

It is also a popular blog, getting 70-80 comments daily, which adds another dimension to it. The comments are fun to read too!
