Friday Fragments is hosted my Half-Past Kissin' Time for bloggers to post a list of short things on their minds that aren't really enough for a whole post. Here we go:
New Game
Last Friday the ladies at church had a game night and I played a game I never heard of before: Mexican Train Dominoes. It isn't hard but was fun because we had six people playing. I liked that the winner got to hit the button on the gadget to sound the train whistle. It was loud! (I would have taken a picture but didn't bring my camera with me.)Tom Brady

Kindness
Who buys girl scout cookies just to give them away? An attorney at work stopped by my desk before work and gave me two boxes of girl scout cookies--thin mints and tag-a-longs! He also gave some to the secretary next to me just because he's a nice guy. I'm glad I ordered less this year! I kept the thin mints at work and gave the tag-alongs to my husband. It was a nice surprise!February Favorites
Gerard's favorite read for February was Me Before You by Jojo Moyes about caring for a paraplegic and Karen's was In Need of A Good Wife by Kelly O'Connor McNees about Mail-order brides.Book Giveaway

We have been playing Mexican Train Dominoes for years. It's one of our favorites! We don't have the train whistle, but that sounds fun too.
My hubs took GS cookies to his office too. He wanted to buy from our neighbor, but we are didn't want to have them in the house, becaue GS cookies-yum! I could eat the whole box : )
Have a nice weekend!
I've never heard of Mexican Train Dominoes - sounds interesting!
That is surprising that a pro football player isn't all about the money.
How cool that attorney bought Girl Scout cookies and gave them to you and the secretary - what a nice guy! :)
Another Winter Storm Dud and some Funnies
We play Mexican Train Dominoes, but you can't play it with a lot of people because there is a quagmire in the game that prevents some people from playing any longer when you get to a certain point. That's fine, but if you are playing for fun or with kids, it's not good to have some people sitting out.
I wish I had a cookie guy at work! (We ate ours up before Colin came home from college and inhaled them!! shhhhhh--don't tell him!)
I hadn't heard of Mexican Train Dominoes before so don't know what it's about. As for Brady's salary, $57 million is a lot of money for 16 games a year through 2017. Sports people are getting paid so much it's going to cost even more money to go to a game. It's crazy!
Hats off to Mr. Brady!! That is very cool.
How do you get your cats to sit next to the books? Seriously. Any time I put something next to our dog, he insists on checking it out and playing with it. That has always impressed me.
We play a form of that dominoes game, but we don't have a horn. Now I am thinking we should find something ;-)
I usually buy cookies for my husband, because if I keep them around, I'll eat the whole sleeve of cookies in one setting.
Oh man... I've gotta head over & see if anyone claimed the book yet - that looks awesome!
I've never heard of this game. Will have to go out online and check it out. As for the cookies, another one I hadn't heard of..."tag a longs". But the mint...mmmmmmmm, yum. That was a great gesture of his kind heart.
I love all of the interesting facts you share on your blog, I love learning new things.
Very interesting about Tom Brady. Who'd a thought. It makes sense why he's so well loved.
Mexican Train is loads of fun, isn't it? It's one of the few games I really enjoy playing. I'm not a huge lover of games in general really, but I do like that one! :)
