Canine LifeLine
The foster mom of our dog, Abby, has formed a volunteer organization called Canine LifeLine. Canine LifeLine is an all volunteer organization with a mission to save adoptable dogs from being euthanized at shelters due to overcrowding or treatable medical conditions such as heartworm. All of our dogs are in foster homes throughout northeast Ohio. Abby will be featured on her "Happy Tails" page at www.caninelifeline.org.
Canine Lifeline does not have a shelter. All of our dogs are in foster homes. Please email caninelifeline@gmail.com if you're interested in meeting any of our dogs.
Tail Waggin' Tutors
I just learned about this program this week where kids read to therapy dogs. I think Abby would make a wonderful therapy dog and we are going to look into this. Check out this video at Therapy Dogs International. This is just of of many programs they have. Some dogs also visit assisted living facilities, hospitals and hospice facilities.

If you don't like to shop, you may want to try out Alice.com that I learned about at Freaky Frugalite: "Meet My Maid: Alice.com". Shipping is free!
Taylor Swift
In the Cleveland PLAIN DEALER Wednesday of this week, I read that Taylor Swift, the 19-year-old hit country music singer is going to have a signature line of greeting cards, gift wrap and stationery with American Greetings Corp. She is an amazing, very talented girl!

Happy Friday! I don't even like country and I like Taylor Swift.
As a mother of a child who often received love and companionship from a therapy dog, I find it a very honorable thing to want to be involved in. As the patient (or in this case, the patient's mother), it really is appreciated and welcomed.
I'll bet Abby would make a great therapy dog; she seems easygoing and gentle.
I discovered Alice about a month ago and I'm totally in love!!
Happy FF
I'm 27 years old, but gosh, if I don't love that Taylor Swift! I think she deserves everything she's earned!

The therapy dogs sound amazing! Our next door neighbor is a foster home for homeless dogs. They sometimes have up to 10 dogs at a time and they take the dogs to the local Petsmart every single weekend and sit there for hours, hoping the dogs will find new homes. That's some serious dedication right there (and I don't have to get my kids a dog because they love to go over and play with the foster dogs!)
That Canine LifeLine sounds really cool! As does the Tail Waggin' Tutors!
I'll definitely have to check out that site - free shipping is always a good thing! ;)
I love Taylor Swift - I'm glad she's so successful (and nice!) at such a young age.
Happy FF! :)
I just won't buy store-made cards anymore; the prices are ridiculous! I prefer to make my own, and I like to use gift bags these days, because they are recyclable.
Reading to dogs, huh? That's pretty cute.
I've been thinking about trying Alice.com. I just haven't had time to check into it...
I think the therapy dogs organization is very cool, as well at the foster home organization. I am a true dog person, and it's great when there are different outlets to address their needs. Thanks for stopping by my blog!
Thanks for the mention, Karen! Alice.com was something new I learned this week, too. :D
I hope you and Abby do decide to work as a therapy dog team. There is nothing more rewarding.
I'm a huge fan of Taylor Swift so it was interesting to learn about the cards.
I hope the organization does well helping dogs in shelters. So sad there are so many of them.
Thanks for all your prayers and well wishes as we traveled. I didn't realize we passed so close to you. Perhaps on the way home, we will drop by :-)
That's great that Abby will be featured on Canine LifeLine's website! Sounds like a wonderful organization!
Cat & Confessions of A Working Mom: She has a wide audience!
Won & Daisy: I think Abby would love doing this, now only if we can control her barking at other dogs more. There's quite a lot on the test, most of which wouldn't be a problem.
April: I placed my first order over the weekend--can't believe they ship in only 2 days and don't charge! I was surprised at how many items were available too.
Helene: Wow, that is real dedication all right. Can't imagine taking care of 10 dogs in my house. That's nice of her to let your kids over to play with them. Maybe you'll get attached to one of them and make them a part of your family.
Stacy: Alice.com isn't free shopping, but free shipping. That tail waggin tutors reminded me of when I used to read to my cat when we first got him to get him used to my voice. I saw Taylor Swift in a TV interview and she is really a nice girl--I love that she's not into partying or drugs. I am very happy she's so successful!
Mrs.4444: I don't buy many cards either and we use gift bags too! Also save bigger wrapping paper to use over again. I'm sure Abby would love having a kid read to her. I put in my first Alice.com order over the weekend. It took a long time to go through and find the products I buy, but once you get your shelf set with things you use, it won't take so long then.
Molly: Nice to meet you, Molly! We love our dog but I have become more of a cat person since I got to know my dad's cats--they are much less work!
Rebecca: Thanks for stopping by.
Mountain Woman: For therapy dogs, it's quite an extensive test they have to pass. The no barking at other dogs may be a problem for us. I'm happy for Taylor Swift's success! Abby is quite proud of her foster mom starting up that organization to save other dogs that are like she used to be. It would be great if you could stop by on your way home for a visit! we'd love to meet all of you!! So glad you had a safe trip and are back on the Internet!
