I finally worked up my nerve to try adding CommentLuv to this blog when I was off on Monday. In the process, I learned how to export and import my blog into a test blog. I started the process with the test blog but I couldn't get it verified on the CommentLuv site so I just used this blog then. It worked! I was happy. I followed the video step-by-step that Alan had directed me to. It seemed to be going along fine. It should only take about 13 minutes. HA!
When I was almost done, I didn't like the comment form or the way it looked. It didn't show the commenters' pictures and when I tried clicking on their name, it didn't take me to their blog. Nor did any last post show for anyone. I tried leaving a comment and I got the message that it didn't match my member ID. At this point, I was very frustrated having spent an hour trying to do this and I tried contacting the support help. When that didn't work, I gave up. I like the way my comments are working now and so I'm going to leave it as is. I don't know what happened. Perhaps I'll try again some time but I doubt it. I just don't think it's worth it.
Perhaps it didn't work because I forgot to create my JS-Kit profile. That part wasn't mentioned in the video so I forgot about it by the time I had worked through everything. I just saw it now when I was looking for the link to the post in case you wanted to give it a try.

Sounds too complicated for us. We will stick to the old fashioned way. hehe. Happy saturday!
We are too scairt to try something like that. It sounds hard!
Hi! Something for you at my site.
I got mine almost working by using the JS Kit and I even got all the comments imported but then I had to save my blog code and the darned thing wouldn't save so no Comment Luv for me either.
I've not been tempted to try it. A couple of my regular visit each day have it, but I don't know how they like it.
Have a terrific weekend. :)
Well if you ever interested again...I wrote more about it here

I had comment luv for a while on my site id did not work well fom me and I did create the js kit it was not worth having on my site so I dumped comment love.I was getting a lot of unhappy camper email abouth that aspect of my blog.so I dumped comment love.
Country Cats & Daisy--It is hard. It's a lot of fussing to go through and disappointing at the end when I thought I had it but didn't. My advice is to not bother, but then, I am pretty lazy.
Signe, thanks for the award even though I already got that one.
Mountain Woman, I even got farther than you then. I was able to save the blog code and then I uploaded it but when I went to make a comment to test it out, it said it didn't match the ID number I was given--who knows? It made no sense and by then I was pretty tired of fussing with it and saw the form which I didn't like so phooey on it.
Sandee, I know as a commenter, I like seeing it, but honestly, I've only clicked a very few articles that way. On the other hand, if I see someone's comment I especially like or agree with, I'll often click on their name to go visit their blog. That's why I've come to the conclusion that it's not worth the trouble, especially since I do show my top commenters and most recent posts of those on my blogroll (which you have to scroll pretty far down to find).
Alan, okay. Thanks for the additional post information.
The problems you and some of the commentors have surprises me. I set up CommentLuv on my blog about four months ago and didn't have any problems at all. It's been working for me fine, and as I recall it only took maybe 10 minutes to get the whole thing set up and working.
I wonder if they've made some changes recently that aren't working out as well as they should.
I think that a may give it another try. I want to take tomorrow off from writing and I need something to drive me crazy, so I'll give it a go. If it works, I'll let you know.
I don't use blogger anymore so I have no clue how hard it must be to install anything there. I put it on all of my blogs with no problem after I updated my wordpress to the required edition. Have a great Sunday Karen and Gerard
I think it's worth the trouble myself. For me, anyway, it was just a matter of reading the instructions that were there. I tried to do something that wasn't there. Once I did what they (both JS-Kit and CommentLuv) said, it worked out fine. Plus I enjoy being able to click right through to people's posts instead of having to click on the profile, then find their blog (whichever one they want me to see out of their 10 blogs :) Don't give up. It is worth it, at least in my opinion.
