Baked French Toast |
When I was still thinking about it a week later, I decided to look up the recipe on Google so at least I have it if I ever would get to make it or if someone would like to make it for me (we do not have a stove). Not only did I find the recipe, but also a video actually demonstrating how to do it at www.allrecipes.com! Here's the recipe:
Preheat oven to 350 degreesI don't think an 8" x 8" pan would fit in my toaster oven so I won't be making this anytime soon but at least I have the recipe. Have you ever had this?
Use a 8" x 8" pan
Dump 5 cups of cut up bread cubes in pan
Mix:
4 eggs
1 1/2 cup milk
2 TBS white sugar
1/4 tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla extract
Pour mixture over bread cubes in pan, turning cubes over in batter.
Dot with 1 TBS butter
Let stand 10 minutes
Sprinkle evenly over the top:
2 TBS white sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
Bake 45 - 50 minutes at 350 degrees
Serve warm with maple syrup

I like French Toast, but prefer pancakes. Of course, I am not opposed to trying new recipes and this one sounds like an easy way to make French Toast without the hassle of standing over a stove. Thanks for sharing!

I LOVE french toast, but my hubby doesn't eat gluten...and french toast with GF bread is just not yummy...so I order it when ever we eat out for breakfast! I will have to start looking to see if anyplace serves this because it sounds so yummy!! :)
I have made baked French Toast a bunch of times. I love how I can assemble it at night, let it rest, then throw it in the oven in the morning. The more you look the more recipes you'll find. Happy hunting (and baking)!
I've not tried this, but it does sound very good. It would be a treat on a Sunday morning.
Have a terrific day. ☺
My hubby makes me baked french toast on special occasions since I like it way more than he does. It's one that has to sit in the fridge overnight so the one you found is much easier. I hate to cook but even I can make that one!
I did find several and some did say to put it in the frig overnight and bake it the next day. Guess it gives the ingredients extra time to soak in that way and be even yummier yet! I checked on Google and didn't find any restaurants around here that served it. Guess I'll just have to attend more Indians games!
Oh my goodness! French toast is amazing, and this sounds even better! Thank you so much for sharing the recipe! I shall be trying it this weekend. Perfect weather we're having for it too, it's freezing here at the moment. Nothing beats winter blues like comfort food. Thanks for stopping by my blog! :)
