A TV Day

I normally watch very little TV, but yesterday I was home sick so had a TV day with my cat, Manny.  I basically spent the day on the couch except when I had to blow my nose and eat or drink something.  We watched "I Love Lucy," "Golden Girls," and "Sell That House," in the morning.  I was laughing out loud on Lucy and the Golden Girls which is the best medicine!

This is the first I watched "Sell That House."  It's a show that helps people trying to sell their house for a long time figure out why it isn't selling and help the owners get it to sell.  I enjoyed watching two episodes.

The first was a woman whose townhouse wasn't selling.  No wonder, it was so cluttered and messy and smelly from the fish tank.  I can't believe people actually show their house with the bed unmade and clothes all over I do remember when we were house hunting, we saw a home similar.  Here's a hint:  If you are showing your house in the hopes of selling it, clean it up and get rid of the clutter!

The second was a large home with an asking price of $499,000!  It was so outdated though that potential buyers were turned off as soon as they entered the door.  The show convinced the owner to spend $30,000 to remodel the entire house and then they got an offer for $500,000.

In the afternoon, I enjoyed watching several episodes of "Little House on the Prairie." I always enjoy that show!  Then I finally got off the couch and played some Lumosity games.  I actually did better than I expected!

I felt like this was a waste of a day, but I just didn't feel up to doing anything--not even reading!  Glad I feel better today and can go back to work.

Sorry you're sick, Karen. I hope you feel a bit better today. A cat on your lap, watching TV all toasty on the couch really is the best medicine!

I love "Sell This House." I don't know why people don't clean up either, but part of me thinks the producers want to stage the best possible BAD reaction of people when they come for a walk-through.

I hope i never have to sell our house. I barely clean as it is. I can't imagine having to make it look hotel quality every time someone is coming to look at it!

I'm glad you are feeling better today. I hate being sick.

Yikes, people didn't even clean up their house to show it? That would turn me off too.

Have a fabulous day Karen. Scritches to the babies. ☺

When my human was selling her house in 2006, her realtor actually rented living room furniture and moved the lousy furniture that was already there into the formal dining room, which he set up like a den. And what I found horrible was that every time there was an Open House, my human had to throw us kitties into PTUs and go to a friend's house! We got usurped! I was so glad when it was over and we moved. I think my human was glad too.

Sparkle: The hardest part of selling my dad's house for me was getting rid of his three cats. Couldn't show the house with the cats in it. It was horrible!

Kathy: I think I'm going to watch "Sell The House" again. I liked it!

I'm glad you are feeling better! Resting when you are sick really isn't a waste of a day. It sounds like you needed a day on the couch!

Prying you are feeling well soon, your list of TV viewing was great, I haven't seen the program "Sell That House"but sounds interesting, I am surprised at what people will do to get their 15 mins. of fame on TV~smile~ Sweet photo of you and your companion, I think our pets know when we are under the weather, and offer comfort.
