8 Friday Fragments (animals, news, funny, sports, inspiration)

Friday Fragments is hosted my Half-Past Kissin' Time for bloggers to post a list of short things on their minds that aren't really enough for a whole post. Here we go:

Girl petting goat in Amish Country

Screaming Goats

Did you ever hear a goat scream? I didn't even know they could until I saw this funny screaming goat video that Beth Ann shared over at It's Just Life. Go take a look if you want a laugh.

Cats

Here's a fact I just learned from playing Freekibble this week: Maine Coons have water-resistant fur!

New Mini-Series

Are you going to watch "The Bible," a new mini-series on the History channel? It's by the producer of "Survivor."  We are taping it.

Free Adoptions/Food Stamps

Best Friends will send a dog or cat to you anywhere in the U.S. at no charge if you adopt one from them.  Oh, and if you already have pets and are struggling financially to keep them fed, read about the Federal Pet Food Stamp Program that is available..

Shoes

Guess how many pairs of shoes John Lucas III (NBA basketball player for the Raptors) owns. According to Sports Illustrated, he owns 6,000 pairs of shoes! Can you imagine? He could open his own shoe store!

Baseball

The Cleveland Indians opener sold out in just six minutes! I'm surprised considering how bad their attendance was last year. Sports Illustrated actually had good things to say about this year's team and went so far as to say they may be playing in October!

The Best

My boss really made me feel good yesterday when he told me I am "the best secretary he ever had"! My goal at work is to be the best secretary I can be to bring glory to God. (And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men. Col. 3:23) An encouraging statement like this makes me want to work even better! I can really say I enjoyed my job this week like the Bible says to do in Ecclesiastes several times. (Find out more highlights I found in Ecclesiastes at my first Sunday Sharing: Ecclesiastes post.

Funniest Post of the Week

Our Friday Fragment host, Mrs 4444, shared one of her class episodes that is hilarious: "Eating Your Way To A New Blood Type." I was laughing all through it! If you missed it on Monday, you really should stop by and read it.  I must say, this even tops the goat video!

I read that story about John Lucas III and thought - no guy should do that. Am I right?

I need to check out that Best Friends & see if they have an Aussie - that's what we're looking for!

I am excited about The Bible myself!!!

I had no idea goats could scream - freaky! :)

And I had no idea Maine Coons have water resistant fur - learn something new every day! :)

We're definitely going to watch "The Bible" - I'll be recording it so we can watch it at our leisure. :)

How cool is the free adoption program? If we didn't already have 2 dogs and 5 cats I'd totally think about doing that. :)

6,000 pairs of shoes?! That's insane! And I thought *my* shoe closet was over-full! :)

Awwww! That's so cool your boss let you know you're the best secretary he ever had - you GO! :)

Yes, goats scream and nip and head butt..we don't really get along :-(

I wasn't able to read many blogs this week. There is a lot I missed just on Monday :-(

I understand loving your pets, but I very much disagree with tax payer dollars going to fund pet food. So I was really happy to find out this was a donation based program.

Ecclesiastes is a great book and often passed over. What a great compliment to receive from your boss :-) Woohoo!

We are very excited and also going to tape the Bible.
6000 pairs of shoes is ridiculous!
I love my pets and all animals but I disagree with tax dollars being used to feed them.
You should not have pets or children you cannot afford.
That was nice of your boss to tell you, congratulations!!
You have a great weekend.

You are so sweet, Karen; I just love you :) I'm glad that post cracked you up, too.

i believe that goats scream, but I think some of those goats were lip-syncing.haha

DVT is all set to record The Bible.

I'm amazed by the Pet Food Stamps program. I'm going to see if my mom might be eligible. Thanks for the great idea :)

SO sorry to leave three comments, but I forgot one MORE thing--It does not surprise me that you're the best secretary your boss has ever had. NICE JOB
