Comment For Charity In July To Help Heifer International

Last month we got 207 comments and donated $104 to Joni and Friends. We really appreciate all who commented. For July, we will donate 50 cents per comment to Heifer International, an organization I learned about through Ann Up North. What animal we can provide depends on the size of the donation. View this video to find out how this organization helps communities combat poverty.

$120 = pig or sheep or goat (we'll let our readers vote--tell us your choice in a comment here!)
$150 = llamba
$250 = water buffalo
$60 = rabbits
$20 = chicks or ducks

Well, am I happy to comment to be able to help a whole community out of poverty! I guess I am.

I am happy to be back in town and in touch with all my blogging friends again. Hope you get plenty of comments for whatever livestock you like best.

We are voting for the goat. Sounds like all this is a great success. Thanks for doing this. Have a super duper day.

This is really neat :) :) What a great way to help someone in need in a practical way. From what I've seen in the video, this is something that would have a generational impact as well, so not just for now, but for the future :) :) Great ;) :) Have a great 4th of July weekend. Greetings from Oregon, Heather :)

sorry, I forgot to vote...hmm...while I like all three, and they all have their uses, I vote GOAT!!! Goat's milk is really good for the human body. It digests in the body in about 20 minutes, whereas cow's milk takes about a couple of hours. Goats can't be treated with hormones and such like cows are allowed to be...so I think they're much healthier. Plus, if you brush them carefully, you can collect their fur and make mohair yarn :) :) :) I vote goats!!! Love and hugs from Oregon, Heather :)

I was going to say either choice was good--and then I read Heather's comment about the Noble Goat. I am partial to sheep as a spinner, but I will vote to aim for a goat for all her good reasons.

I vote goat for the same reasons as sharkbytes.

I vote for the pig because someone is usually trying to eat them.
