How We Make Each Other CRAZY! (Writer's Workshop)

Karen's table in den
There are a few things we do that make each other CRAZY:

Karen says:
1)         My "clutter" drives him crazy!  It's really not THAT bad as you can see from these pictures.  He likes tables and dressers cleared off but I like things handy so leave stuff out, books, knickknacks, pictures.  He usually has a book rack and at least the Peanuts calendar on his desk but this morning when I went to take a picture of it, he had it all cleared.  (He's always moving his stuff around.)

2)         If I have things a bit crooked, it makes him crazy.  Gerard is a neat freak and thought it was funny how he always straightens the remote controls if I put them down slightly crooked.

3)         When I get up early on the weekend it makes Gerard crazy.  Gerard gets up at 4:30 a.m. M-F to walk Abby before work so he likes to sleep in on the weekend; however, I still get up at 5 a.m. or earlier on the weekends too.  I have to take my pills at 5 a.m. every day and then as long as I'm up, will usually go on the computer.  Once Abby (our dog) goes back in the bedroom after breakfast, I do shut the door for him.  This makes him crazy!

Gerard says:
1)         I sometimes move her things around without telling her and she goes nuts!  It's usually things that she hasn't used in ages.  What's really bad is that sometimes I don't even remember where I put it.   This makes her crazy!  I move my things around all the time but that usually doesn’t bother her, although sometimes even that does.  Like when I moved the electric heater in the basement to the other room, she mumbled and moved it right back.

2)         I know my driving makes her crazy when I don't follow the arrows in a parking lot.  I try to do better at following them because I know she freaks out about it if I don't, but sometimes I'll forget because it just doesn't seem like that big a deal to me, especially early on a Saturday morning when we go to Hometown Buffet for breakfast.  It's not like it's crowded.  I guess she thinks we'll get in a head-on collision some day when I do this or maybe she's just a stickler for following the rules--I'm not sure.
Our bed this morning

3)         It makes her crazy when I pull the covers too much.  She says I'm a cover hog and don't leave her hardly any.  I can't help that I pull them with me when I turn over!  (You can't really tell from the picture, but my side has the covers falling on the floor and Karen's side has the edge of them on top of the bed!  Sorry.)

Which of these things you make you crazy?  Do you do anything that drives your significant other nuts?

This is in response to Mama Kat’s Writer’s Workshop prompt:  Something you do that drives your significant other CRAZY.

I know all about that moving the other person's things around. We both do it. I think that's just what happens when you have two non-neaties trying to keep the house somewhat organized.

I shared what I do that drives my DH crazy on my blog... it has to do with asking him what he thinks...

Dumb Dad hates it that I get up early on the weekends. For a while there I could blame the kids and then I could blame the squirrel attic invasion, but it's really just me. The Dudes still get up too early for our liking, but I am just addicted to getting up before them. I can't stand being woken up by hands on my face, so if that means I'm outta bed at 6am on Saturday so be it!

Although I don't like clutter I'm far from being a neat freak so we don't have trouble with moving things around. Actually, I can't think of anything that drives me crazy, well, except for when he IM's me on the computer instead of coming upstairs to tell me something when I'm working. I hate having to stop working to answer an IM from someone in the same house as me.

We were perfectly designed to drive each other crazy on almost all fronts!

LOL on the blankets. Both sides seem to present reasonable points of view. :) So, I guess, as long as you're "working" at it, it will be okay. I'm not a neat freak or OCD, but I do like my countertops uncluttered. I had an electrician friend who had to have all the screws in the lightswitches pointing vertical. I told his wife he was too easy to mess with--at night just go and move them all around.

It would drive me crazy too if you didn't follow the arrows in parking lots. In fact, my husband does that. His parking lot driving puts me a little one edge.

It would drive me crazy too if my husband woke up early on the weekends. I like to sleep in.

Hubby hates it when I read in bed. Even though I can fall asleep with the light on, he can not. He won't let me have peace to read if he is ready to turn out the light. I go bonkers when he walks around with his pocket flaps open, zippers on his pockets unzipped or carries his brief case with the tabs not shut. Just a tiny bit OCD on my part, I know.

Hahaha! This was a great post! I love that you both voiced your dislikes. Very cute. Thanks so much for stopping by my post for the writing workshop, as well. Can't wait for next week.
