Enjoying Fitworks Again

After having had to give up working out due to giving my body time to recover from surgery (a year), I have re-join Fitworks. I came across an old blog post that said weight lifting not only builds muscle but also helps harden bones. I know I’ve lost some muscle and definitely some bone density during the last year so really think I need to get back to the gym and do some strength training again. I am actually excited about it!

In the past, I really did well when I was a member at Fitworks because there is one close to my place of employment. Consequently, it is convenient for me to go before work or during lunch. At one point, I was working out 5 days a week this way! Right now, I am starting by going every other day. Cost wise, it isn't really costing me anything! I'm using the Christmas money I received and a VISA gift card to pay for my 18-month membership.

I thought I could just get in workouts at home, but it’s very difficult because there are so many distractions there. I look forward to getting stronger again in 2011—wish me luck!

Good for you! I'm glad you are healthy and strong enough to go back to working out. :)

That's great that you have one close to your work. I would love to have a gym membership and be able to use more than just my Total Gym and Nordic Track (it gets kinda boring after a while).
Have fun and good luck :)

Good for you! I too found that I got more exercise when I had a gym membership. I find so many excuses here at home. I have been walking on my treadmill pretty religiously the past two weeks. My gym membership was $36 per month. I just couldn't swing that any longer.

That's great that one is so convenient to your work so you can get your workout out of the way before going home to Gerard and your furbabies! I got up early to do the elliptical yesterday and realized it's been too long so I'll have to work back up to where I was just a few months ago.

That's great. You have to start somewhere...and doing something is better than doing nothing :) :) I totally support you in this and will be praying that you will do well. Me personally, I LOVE dance workout DVDs :) :) Love and hugs from Oregon, Heather :)
