Where's The Bill?

I am so tired of fussing with stupid things all the time. Saturday when I opened my AT&T phone bill, I was shocked to see the amount due was double my usual! Then I noticed they were charging me for two months with a $5.00 late fee. I looked through my current bills that I paid, and sure enough, the last one for AT&T was in January. I have no other AT&T bill waiting to be paid so apparently, I didn't get one last month. It's over sized so I always pay that one right away because it bugs me that it takes up so much room in my purse.

The kicker is that they are charging a $5.00 late fee yet. It's not my fault they didn't send me a bill. I don't know what's up with that. I paid the whole amount, but called on Monday to find out what's going on with this and get them to credit my next bill for $5.00.

Sorry this happened to you. It seems that we the people are always stuck with the extra bill. Not anyone but us.

Have a terrific day. :)

So sorry Karen. We had a problem with our cable service that took a year of letters to fix. They finally got it right but it was so aggravating.
One thing I might suggest that I have now done is to set up email activation on all your accounts and that way you get an email from the company on the day your bill is mailed. It's saved me some grief when a bill didn't show up in the mail.

I hate it when that happens! I have signed up for several e-bills. It's even easier to lose track of those. I have to put a note in my "revolving bill file" to remind me that there is a debt out there even if I don't have a pile of paper to prove it!

They probably didn't send you a bill on purpose, so they could collect the late fee. I've heard about companies doing that. Also, if you do sign-up to receive your bill online, be sure that they don't charge you a "convenience" fee (Qwest did that for several months before they rescinded it), for paying online.

I'm not going with any e-bill thing--I already get more emails than I'd like and it would be easy to be scammed that way I'd think. At least the fee was credited back and this only happened once over many, many years. I just thought it very strange!

I'm very glad that the person you dealt with was nice and that the fee was refunded. I wish more customer service people were like that.

Oh, gosh! The worst, though is the DMV. I ended up paying $300 on a $30 traffic ticket! Happy St. Patty's to you!
