3 Things I Learned in Week 3 of 2009

I learned which pipes go to our upstairs bathroom and how to shut off the water to them thanks to the plumber. Now I need to find someone to insulate our attic properly.

I learned geocaching is a sport where you hunt for something hidden by someone else. There is actually a website (www.geocaching.com) where the players log in their finds. Then you can trade an item for something that you found by leaving something small of equal or greater value and re-hiding the container for someone else to find. This is the first I've ever heard of such a thing! Check out What Is Geocaching for more information about it.

I found a directory for cats with blogs when visiting 3 Cat Blog. If your cat has a blog, you may want to head over there and sign it up. There is also one for dogs with blogs too!

We used to go Geocaching almost every weekend! It is so much fun. It's a great way to check out different parks and interesting spots in your area, and the thrill of finding the cache is so exciting. The "trademark" item we usually left in the cache was an origami dollar folded into a fun shape like an elephant or a tee-shirt.

We haven't been in a long time, but maybe we should start again.

Sounds like you've been busy! I have been interested in Geocaching for a while, but I have not had time to pursue the interest. I thought it would be fun to incorporate in our homeschooling adventure.

Last week I learned that we have NO insulation in the walls of our main floor; despite the fact that we purchased insulation during the renovation! Unfortunately, it seems my brother-in-law did not install it before putting the walls back together. THANKS! This is the FOURTH time I have had to replace the pump for our dishwasher over the years due to the hot water pipe that goes to the kitchen sink freezing. Fun stuff, but hey glad it's a small problem we could handle!

BTW - I received your Lemonade Award. Thank you so much for the honor. It is taking me some time to pick my 10 recipients. I hope to have my post up next week in time for the Top Dropper event being held by Entrecard.

Have a wonderful weekend!

How cool. I just learned today what geocaching meant.

I love your weekly post on what you've learned each week. Always learning is a very good thing.

Have a terrific day and weekend. :)

We have considered doing geocaching and this has sparked that interest in me again. I'll have to dig out our GPS and look up that site!

Mom and Dad used to go geocaching but they haven't in a long time. We're going to nudge them to start again (when it warms up!)

Geocaching is one of the main things that inspired me to start going hiking, and then to start my blog. I have actually not gone geocaching yet, but it will be one of my next steps. It is a very fascinating idea.

Wow, I never heard of this at all until I read about it on that blog and here all of you have actually done it or at least are thinking about doing it. I feel like I'm from a different planet here! How could I have not known about this? I learn so much by reading other people's blogs. I love exploring new ones through Entrecard and also revisiting my favorites.
