Friday Fragments

Friday Fragments is hosted by Half Past Kissin' Time for bloggers to post a list of short things on their minds that aren't really enough for a whole post.

Direct TV-Browns Games

This week we found out that there is a dispute between Fox and Direct TV which basically amounts to not being able to watch the Browns games on DirectTV. Again, due to plain greediness on the part of Fox, wanting Direct TV to pay double for the otherwise free programming. I don't quite understand it, but hope I can find somewhere to watch the games.

Funeral

My brother-in-laws funeral was quite different from what I am used to since he was Catholic. I never heard of having "prayers" at the funeral home first and then moving everyone over to the church for the mass. I don't understand why they couldn't do it all at the church. I thought it was kind of nice though when the funeral procession turned down his street to take him by his house on last time.

Painting Progress

We're finally almost done. Our living room and dining room should get finished today, I hope. Right now, our living room is completely useless since even the TV is unplugged. I get a headache when I look at the mess.

That's it, gotta go to work. I'm out.

I am always amazed at the many types of funerals there are. So glad your brother in law passed his home.

Sorry about your brother-in-laws passing.

Have a blessed day and weekend. Scritches to the babies. ☺

That was a nice gesture to go by your brother-in-law's house one last time. Sorry about his passing.

ABC is in a dispute with someone too as I see the scrawl across the screen but I haven't paid enough attention to see what it is. We have cable and pay plenty for it so no one should be disputing anything!

Hope the painting gets done soon! You'll be so glad you did it when everything is back in place!

Just keep thinking about how nice the living room will be when it is done. I know--I hate the mess too. It's stressful. I'm guessing the cats are having a field day though!

Sorry about your brother-in-law. :( Yeah, we Catholics are really stuck in our ways. That's why I don't go to church anymore---they are just too structured. It leaves me empty. I like the new wake/funerals that are big here now---they do the wake and mass the same day at the funeral home. So less stressful for everyone involved.

Bummer about the games. It's all about money, isn't it?

I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your brother-in-law. Driving past his home was a touching thing for the funeral procession to do.
Hopefully you are all finished with your painting project. If not may I suggest a pair of blinders (like they use for race horses).

Have a Fabulous Day!

The funerals I've been to lately have mostly been at the funeral home and then a cemetary. Sorry your life's been stressful lately, and of course about the funeral. On the bright side, you may have been distracted from worrying about your appt on Wednesday. Thinking of you...Thanks for linking up, Karen.

The painting is done, but now we are having the kitchen, bathroom and dining room tiled over the old worn linoleum so unfortunately, we still don't have all our pictures up yet and our furniture will soon be moved into the living room once again. UGH! All this starts on Thursday and hopefully will be all finished by Sunday.
