Aww Monday: Soaked!

Our wet dog, Abby Dabby Doo

We all got soaked on Friday when it poured down rain around 5:00.  Gerard and Abby were on their walk (without a raincoat) and I just got out of work and had a farther walk than normal to the bus stop due to the Captain America moving being filmed in downtown Cleveland which means certain streets are blocked off.  Fortunately, I at least had a lightweight plastic poncho at my desk in case of rain emergencies such as this.  My L.L. Bean waterproof shoes kept my feet and socks dry so just my baseball cap and pants got soaked.  It could have been much worse.  I got home about an hour later than usual.

Smelly Harness--Yuck!
Abby's harness got so wet it smelled like wet dog even two days later--I didn't even let her wear it when we visited the nursing home, it stunk so bad!  We had a brand new collar that we used instead and put the harness on the porch to air it out and dry it off.  P. U.

Abby's heart color
When we were walking back from the drugstore with her, Gerard was trying to pull her the way we wanted to go and it slipped right off her head!  She's such a good girl, she just stayed still while I made it tighter and put it back on.

Wet dog smell is icky! Glad you were prepared for the rain. Abby is a very good girl to stand there and wait on you.

Yuck. There is no smell like that of a wet dog. :( Blech. That Abby sure is a good dog, though.

I'm glad Abby waited! Sounds like she probably got a bath then!

Good girl. I hate when the collars pull off. Scares me. :)

Yes, there's nothing quite like the smell of wet dog. ;)

Have a happy Monday, friend. ☺

Not the nicest way to get a shower, but soft and fluffy afterwards! Good thing pups and people don't melt in the rain, but that wet doggy scent takes a little extra love to overlook! :-) Have a great week of sunshine ahead!

Don't you just love that wet dog smell? I don't either and wow it can be overpowering.

I'm so happy that Abby was a good girl and just waited for you to tighten up the new rig. You've had enough of a scare with her already.

Have a terrific Awww Monday. :)

But dogs LOVE water! Sorry about that wet dog smell. We're finding that if we have an ugly smell, soaking the object in half white vinegar and half water kills the smell.
