3 Things We Learned This Week 16 of 2011 (funny, computer, books)

Dinosaurs

Over at Jodi's Journey this week I learned what happened to the dinosaurs. It's funny--go see The First Senior Moment In History.

Computer

Now that my word processing program is gone after my computer hard drive had to be be wiped clean because of the "Blue Screen Of Death" I realize how important it is to save those software disks and operating disks.

Science Fiction

Okay, after reading The Hunger Games series, The Maze Runner, The Scorch Trials, and now this week Ender's Game, I learned that I do like science fiction after all! Each of these are teen fiction, but we love it!

HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE!

Sorry about your BSOD problems. You know, you can always buy a new operating system on eBay... but it is so expensive you may as well buy a new computer with updated everything!

I checked those trojan names. Some are "false positives" which means they are not viruses but their names are enough to alert the AV program. One or two look like real worms, dated 4/18 and 4/19. I find it very strange that your computer hard drive was reformatted and then still had viruses...

BTW, you can get a virus or worm merely by connecting to the Internet if you don't have a good firewall. Some worms are just "out there," waiting for a vulnerable computer. Years ago, when I connected to the Internet with an XP computer before I had a firewall, my computer got a worm (the Blaster worm). I hadn't been on the Internet that long, and it was a brand new computer, too! I had to reformat the hard drive and that solved it.

Try OpenOffice.org for free wordprocessing software. It's free.
