5 Things I Learned This Week #96 (puzzle, books, pets, costumes)

Library Books

I learned that I should take my library book along even if I am renewing it because if someone is waiting for it, I won't be able to renew it. Today I had to make two trips. I had Private Justice by Terri Blackstock for three weeks and didn't get to it. I really want to read this one so I'm going to re-order it since I couldn't renew it Saturday.

Paperback Swap

Paperback Swap is donating new books to school in need when members turn in their credits. They buy a new book to donate for every credit turned in! I think that's pretty cool--donated 4 of mine.

Correction: My First Costume Was NOT a Clown

Thanks to iMemories.com, when I was looking through my old movies I discovered that my first Halloween costume was not a clown, but a rabbit!

Applying Frontline

I finally learned the secret to applying Frontline to my pets. Do not push their fur aside until I see their skin, just go ahead and push the applicator down into their fur. Moving their fur seems to be disturbing to them and gives them a warning. By just pushing the applicator down through their fur, they don't know it's coming I guess.

Sudoku

I did my first Sudoku puzzle! It's just logic but you have to look for the squares that can't be any other number.

My cat and dog seem to recognise the little tube of Frontline being taken out of the pack, they do a runner as soon as they hear the blister pack crinkle.

I just had to return John Grishams new book unread. I guess I didn't realize the short loan on new books on hold. Very disappointing. I think i'm going to put it on my nook now.

I'm a sudoku addict : ) I fly a lot and they are great for airplanes.

Interesting about the library book. I don't use topicals on my dogs. I've been really fortunate with natural rearing methods none of my dogs have ever had fleas. We don't live in an area of the country with heartworm or I would use heartworm medicine.
You were an adorable rabbit!

Frontline almost killed my cat. He must have had an allergic reaction to it. The vets still deny it, but I've read that some cats are allergic. So i use diatonaceous earth to keep fleas and ticks away. It works well with the fleas, but the ticks are very persistent around here.

I noticed that the voting for your new blog name is at a tie! What would you do if there was a tie in the votes, LOL!

By the way, your library may have an online website where you can log in and see your account. My local library does. I can order books and renew items right from my computer!

I love sodoku! I have a huge book of them that I work on daily. I like to keep my mind moving--and challenged. I do it while I watch TV.

Loved that home movie - how sweet!

I haven't been to PBSwap in a year or so - I think I even have some credits.

I never thought about moving the fur around, so I guess I have always done what you find to be working LOL
