What do you wish was never invented?

When I think about all the things we have in today’s world, most I am thankful for. Two things come to mind though that we could easily do without. I wish guns and bullets were never invented! They make it way too easy to kill someone. Almost everyday in the news I hear about people getting shot, some by accident and some intentionally. June 19th I read about a 38-yr.-old women employed at a laundry mat that was robbed and fatally shot in the head. I would not want any in my house; they make me nervous. I am even uneasy around security guards or policemen who carry them.

What do you wish was never invented?

Gosh, that's a really hard question! Most things that I wish were not invented also have a good purpose.

Oh! I know! I wish cigarettes never were invented. That would save many people a lot of suffering and also a lot of moneys.

Gangs would be my pick. Gangsters are very dangerous in our area. :)

cell phones. I hate that moms walk their babies in strollers or go to the park with their cell phones stuck to their ears--missing out on time with their child. I hate them in stores and in restaurants. And I don't care what anyone says--you cannot drive your car AND talk on the phone. I could totally do without cell phones.

If I can wish, I would really wish that all today weapons were never invented. If wars couldn't be prevented completely, the days where wars were fought with just swords and spears would be better?

Well along the lines of guns and bullets, I'd go with weapons of mass destruction.

Guns, bullets, cigarettes - all great answers.

Daisy: Good answer--I can't think of any good thing about cigarettes.

The Bumbles: LOL!

Sandee: Gangs are scary indeed. Definitely would be better off without them. Read a very interesting book though that gave insight into gangs called "Gang Leader For a Day" by Sudhir Ventekish, a sociology student who did first-hand research on gangs in a low-income project in Chicago.

Lin: I'm surprised you mentioned cell phones! They can come in handy at times but can also be annoying as you point out.

BK & Mountain Woman: I agree--sometimes it's better not to make "progress." While we're wishing, might as well wish big and wish away ALL weapons!

Furkidsmom: I thought so too!
